Abstract
The purpose of this study is to offer an alternate remedy for elementary school students' poor starting reading proficiency. The puzzle-assisted phonics approach is one of the suggested options. It is anticipated that the application of this strategy will result in an improvement in pupils reading abilities. This kind of Kurt Lewin model-based classroom action research (PTK) was carried out. The activity, which comprised two cycles, was executed in four phases: preparation, execution, monitoring, and analysis. Research data were gathered through observation, interviews, evaluation, and documentation. The findings demonstrated that, while using the phonics technique with Fuzzle's assistance, students' learning outcomes in their beginning reading skills increased in terms of their learning completeness with each cycle. In cycle I, for instance, 21 students with a percentage of 75% and an average score of 71.25 attained the KKM; in cycle II, 24 students with a rate of 86% and an average score of 73.04% reached the KKM. This indicates that the degree to which students have learned everything they need to in each cycle is increasing. Thus, kids' reading skills can be completed and improved with the puzzle-assisted phonics approach.
